Happy Birthday Anthony

October 19, 2019

My health is very slowly improving, though a transplant is now off the table as it doesn't look like I'll ever get quite well enough for one. We head to Rockhampton every 6 weeks to see the haematologist who comes up from Brisbane and every 6 months to see the nephrologist.

It happened that this most recent visit coincided with Anthony's birthday. Favourite restaurants and power tools were the order of the day:)

As usual we also splurged out shopping for all those things we can't get locally, like a generator. Our electricity provider has been working on replacing poles but a good storm could still knock power out for a day. On hot days this is uncomfortable (and expensive as the freezer defrosts) so we decided a while back to get a generator capable of running the fridge, freezer, one air conditioner and the computer server. Anything extra is a bonus.

After lots of research Anthony finally chose one and we bought it from Bunnings on Wednesday. As it was too big for our car we paid for it to be freighted to our local hardware store (the freight drop point for Rubyvale). We were very surprised to get a phone call from said hardware store Thursday afternoon saying it had arrived: we were still driving home after the hospital visit!

So new toys for Anthony and a new toy for the house. It was a productive trip.
