Open for business

My sister expressed a desire to visit us, which reminded us that we hadn't really tackled the spare bedroom. It had flaking wallpaper and the curtains needed some repairs and it was in generally poor condition. Anthony got stuck in and stripped the wallpaper and painted all the walls while I dealt with everything else. It needs new carpet, but that will have to wait. In the meantime the room is ready for visitors!

First came my sister and her husband: they enjoyed sieving for sapphires so much that we ended up going twice to the cafe where you can get a meal and a bucket of wash to sort through. After showing them the ropes, Anthony and I got our own bucket and we got a couple of nice 17ct stones for skin polishing (they were too cloudy for use as gemstones).

Next it was the turn of my Victorian photography friend Jen and her husband Daren. They were more interested in the sights: Jen is an awesome portrait/street photographer and Rubyvale is certainly full of photogenic characters!

So now we've got the room set up, please come and visit us!
