Our Great British Adventure
May 6, 2018We packed up and headed south to England (seriously, the road signs said The South and yes, in the opposite direction they said The North. Sometimes in all caps). Our randomly selected stop for the night was Darlingford.
I chose the coast road route south of Newcastle but forgot to put in my notes that we were to stop at the very picturesque Bamburgh Castle. We stopped instead at the pretty seaside town of Dunbar. By the time I realised my mistake we didn't have enough time left for the detour to Bamburgh. Disappointing.
The hotel at Darlingford turned out to be a huge old building - probably a converted manor house - that was very pleasant to stay at.
