Goodbye Murrumbateman house

Oct 25, 2017

The house in Murrumbateman settled last week. Goodbye house:(

I've started growing lots of veggies and herbs in the shadehouse in the garden. Unfortunately there have been break ins and mutilations, especially of the chilli plants where the chillis have been stripped along with the leaves. We had to borrow a trap to deal with the marauders.

Anthony relocates them to the other side of Sapphire, but others turn up so we have to repeat the process every month or so. My poor plants. We've been re-netting the walls and bogging up holes so it's unclear how they're now getting in, but they are.

One of our many backyard residents is a family of Burns lizards. They are fun to watch as they stand up and run on their back legs. Burns lizard at rest

One of our passers-by are the camels: about 7 of them roam around like the cattle do. Sometimes we just hear their deep calls, or see their prints in the mud after rain, but sometimes they just walk on by our gate.
