I started my long service leave - and new post-work life - at the start of July and an intensely busy 6 or so weeks followed. It started with three weeks in Queensland getting the new extension painted in preparation for the lino going down. I left Anthony finishing that off and went back to Murrumbateman to pack for the removalists. We ended up with just under 400 items in 2 shipping containers.
Once they'd left I cleaned up the house for a week - sleeping on some leftover furniture in the spare room - then flew up to meet them at the other end a week later. Two days of unloading and sorting then Anthony and I drove back to Murrumbateman. Two weeks of intense cleanup (which got a bit surreal at times as the photo below shows) had the house ready for sale and we put it on the market.
We then drove both cars (and the small trailer) loaded up with the last bits and bobs to our new home. As I'm not fond of long distance driving, we stretched the 1600km drive over 4 days.
